Beefmaster Group, Kimberley’s largest private employer, recently hosted its annual Long Service Awards, celebrating employees who have reached 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service.
Held in January 2026 in Kimberley, the awards recognised staff members whose dedication, loyalty and hard work have helped shape Beefmaster Group into one of South Africa’s leading agribusiness employers. The event highlighted both individual career milestones and the company’s strong people-first culture.
“It is incredibly inspiring to see how our people have grown over the years, both professionally and personally,” says Cindy Nkgoeng, HR Manager at Beefmaster Group. “These long-service awards are a reminder that when we invest in our employees, they invest their futures with us. Their resilience, consistency and dedication are what make Beefmaster Group strong.”
Nkgoeng notes that each employee recognised represents a story of perseverance, skills development and career progression within the organisation.
“Many of the long-serving employees being honoured joined Beefmaster Group in entry-level roles and have since built meaningful, long-term careers. Their journeys reflect a workplace that values employee growth, internal promotion and continuous development,” she says.
A standout moment during the event was the recognition of CEO Gert Blignaut, who celebrated 25 years of service. He was joined by long-serving colleagues Andre Bergh and Tshwaro Ntaolang, who each marked 20 years with the company.
“Their leadership journeys demonstrate the career growth opportunities available within Beefmaster Group for employees committed to long-term success,” Nkgoeng adds.
She emphasises that employee retention at Beefmaster Group is driven by a supportive work environment, ongoing training opportunities and a culture that recognises contributions.
“Our employees are our greatest champions,” Nkgoeng says. “We are proud of their achievements and grateful for the role they play in our continued success. Celebrating long service is not only about recognising the past, but also about building a strong future together.”
